Lilavati Hospital to commence Rs 400 crore expansion soon
The Mumbai-based Lilavati Hospital is planning to expand its operations by setting up two more hospitals in Maharashtra and to build up more capacity to its existing facility with an overall investment of Rs 400 crore.
The Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust, which runs the well-established hospital at Bandra, Mumbai, has decided in a recent meeting to start two more hospitals in Maharashtra. Opening facilities in rural areas is going to be a major focus area for the hospital, reveals the hospital management.
Besides, the capacity of the existing Lilavati Hospital will be increased from 326 to 526 rooms by adding 200 rooms with ultra-modern robotic operation facility. Plans are to utilize 1.8 lakh sq ft of additional Floor Space Index to add these 200 rooms. The initial works for the capacity expansion will be started by around December, 2009.
